Our educational philosophy

The academy was founded in 2002 by Dr. Joyce Tsang. Dr. Tsang has worked in the beauty industry for more than thirty years and firmly believes that professional education can open up a path for young people, so she made “providing a professional route for school leavers and adult learners” the starting point of the academy.

Qualifications must be recognised

The academy insists that its courses gain international and local recognition, including UK ITEC, CIBTAC and TQUK and the Hong Kong Qualifications Framework (QF), so that students' qualifications are recognised both locally and overseas.

Training must match the market

The academy graduates several thousand students every year; its courses are compiled from the views of the industry and cover:

• Beauty care
• Professional make-up
• Intense pulsed light and laser treatment techniques
• Nail care
• Eyelash care
• Semi-permanent make-up
• Body massage and belly binding care, and everything in between — covering the full range of professional techniques and abilities in the beauty industry and keeping pace with the changing social needs of a knowledge-based economy; that is to say, the academy's course design draws on the views of the industry and matches the manpower the market requires.

Teaching must combine theory and practice

The academy requires its courses to combine theory and practice, taught interactively by qualified instructors, so that students genuinely master the techniques and can choose a suitable route into employment or further study.

Horizons must be broader

Beyond professional techniques, the academy also provides courses in promotion, human resource management and counselling, and holds seminars to help students understand the latest regulation and developments in the industry.
