The academy's founder, Dr. Joyce Tsang: from a single beauty bed to founding a beauty education institution.
Dr. Joyce Tsang is an entrepreneur in Hong Kong's beauty industry and a promoter of beauty education. She is the founder, Chairperson and Chief Executive Officer of Modern Beauty Salon Holdings Limited, and the founder and School Supervisor of Beauty Expert International Academy. She is also the founder and President of the Hong Kong Beauty and Wellness Association, and Honorary President (2011–13) of the International CICA Association of Esthetics.
Career milestones
In 1986 Dr. Tsang started with a small beauty salon with a single beauty bed; she went on to found and list Modern Beauty Salon Holdings Limited, which has several brands and more than 180 outlets, with its footprint extended to mainland China, Taiwan, Singapore and Malaysia.
Founding the academy
In 2002 she founded Beauty Expert International Academy, bringing years of industry experience into teaching and offering internationally recognised courses in beauty, make-up, massage, slimming and body care.
Contribution to the industry
She founded the Beauty Expert and Health Care Association and the Hong Kong Beauty Industry Union to give the industry a voice, fight for its rights and raise standards and reputation within the trade.
