About the Academy

Our mission

Beauty Expert International Academy was founded in 2002 by Dr. Joyce Tsang, who has over 30 years of experience in the beauty industry. The academy provides professional education for school leavers and adults, helping them build positive values and acquire the beauty knowledge and skills that raise their competitiveness. Over the years we have been the cradle of professional aestheticians, continuously bringing new talent into the industry.

Internationally recognised qualifications

We provide comprehensive pre-employment and in-service training and award internationally recognised qualifications: CIDESCO of Switzerland, ITEC and CIBTAC of the UK, and certificates and diplomas of the Hong Kong Qualifications Framework (QF).

Training that fits the market

A few thousand students graduate from the academy every year, equipped with skills ranging from skincare and professional make-up to intense pulsed light and laser treatments, hairstyling, salon management and marketing. Course content is based on the views of beauty practitioners and covers a wide range of professional techniques.

Theory and practice combined

Our courses combine theory and practice and are taught by qualified professional instructors. Creative content and frequent interaction raise students' interest and skill level, and guide them towards further study or employment in the industry.

Training beyond technique

Beyond professional knowledge and skills, we offer training in marketing, human resource management and counselling to widen students' horizons, along with seminars on the government's latest guidance for beauty salons and its regulations on beauty services.

To gain wider recognition for our qualifications, all courses are accredited by the Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications (HKCAAVQ). We also run internship programmes with a number of beauty salons, so students gain practical experience before graduation and employers can see their ability first-hand.
